Frequently Asked Questions

Do your puppies shed?

Our Puppies are F1B doodles therefore will shed minimally if at all.

What does F1b mean?

An F1b Doodle is a type of hybrid dog that results from breeding an F1 Doodle (a first-generation cross between a Poodle and another breed) back to a Poodle.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • F1 Doodle = 50% Poodle + 50% other breed (e.g., Golden Retriever in a Goldendoodle)

  • F1b Doodle = 75% Poodle + 25% other breed (the result of breeding an F1 Doodle with a Poodle)

The "b" in F1b stands for "backcross."

What is the difference in size between standard and medium doodles?

The size difference between medium and standard Doodles mainly comes down to height and weight, which are influenced by the size of the Poodle parent used in breeding.

Here’s a general comparison:

🐾 Medium Doodle

  • Height: 17 to 21 inches (at the shoulder)

  • Weight: 30 to 50 pounds

  • Build: Compact, often easier to manage in smaller homes or for people wanting a more portable dog

🐾 Standard Doodle

  • Height: 22 to 26+ inches

  • Weight: 50 to 90 pounds (sometimes more depending on the other breed and genetics)

  • Build: Larger, sturdier—better suited for active families or homes with space

The exact size can vary depending on the type of Doodle and whether the breeding lines lean more toward the Poodle or the other breed.

What is the differences in temperament between a Sheepadoodle and Bernedoodle?

Quick Personality Snapshots:

  • 🐶 Sheepadoodle: Energetic, social, and clownish. Great for active families or those wanting a more playful and athletic companion. Can have a herding instinct—might try to "herd" kids or other pets.

  • 🐻 Bernedoodle: Calm, loving, and often very cuddly. They tend to mature a bit slower and can be “puppyish” into adulthood. More emotionally intuitive but sometimes stubborn.
